Bert Daley, age 88, died on April 5, 2022, at Calvary Hospital in NYC.

He is survived by his wife of 6l years, Betty, and 4 children: James Daley of Somers, NY, Karen Guardino (Joseph) of Somers, NY, Dan Daley (Tara) of West Chester, PA and Beth Gould (Jeremy) of Schwenksville, PA. His daughter Mary Ellen died in 2007. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Hunter, of Mt Kisco. His twin brother Jack and brother Dick predeceased him. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Simon Daley; Jack, Jane and Amanda Guardino; Tyler, Ryan and Lucy Daley; Cassie, Kevin and Molly Gould.

Bert was a lifelong resident of Mt. Kisco. He attended St. Francis School in Mt. Kisco, St. Mary’s High School in Katonah, NY and NY Trade School.

He and his twin brother Jack served together in the Army in Germany from 1953 to 1955. He had his own successful painting and paperhanging business in Mt. Kisco for over 40 years, working in many homes and businesses in the Mt Kisco, Bedford and Pound Ridge area.

He served on many boards in the Village of Mt. Kisco including the Mt. Kisco Village Board of Trustees. He served on the Boys Club Board of Trustees for many years and was its President at one time. This year Bert would have been a member of the Independent Fire Company for 70 years and served in many capacities including Captain and President over the years where he made many lifelong friends. He was a member of the Volunteer Ambulance Corps where he also served as President.

Bert and his family had a home in Cape May, NJ for over 20 years which he loved as did his children and grandchildren who all have wonderful memories from that time. Bert loved his family, his home, his garden and his yard where he spent many hours of enjoyment. He was proud of the life and family that he raised in the town of Mt. Kisco.

Family & Friends are invited to Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home on Wednesday April 6, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm for visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Bert on Thursday April 7, 2021 @ 10:00am St. Francis of Assisi Church Mount Kisco, NY. Burial will follow in the family plot at Oakwood Cemetery Mount Kisco, NY 10549
