Members Attend 911 Ride

On August 18th members attended Americas 911 Ride. We departed from the Bedford Hills Fire House on Thursday morning. The first leg of the trip to assemble in Somerset, PA The ride on Friday morning went to the Flight 93 Memorial (crash site) In Shanksville, PA From Shanksville to Washington, DC to the Pentagon (crash site) On Saturday the ride was greeted in Linden, NJ for the final New York City. The final destination was the 911 memorial at ground zero. Members from Mount Kisco FD along with Bedford Hills and Mahopac were with us. The ride totaled 1,000 miles in three days for Americas 911 Foundation. This was the final year for the ride!!!!! we have attended for numerous years, Special thanks to X-Captain from Mutual Engine & Hose, Paul's passion and commitment to the cause is commendable. Not only for this ride, but for the Mount Kisco 911 memorial has Paul has been amazing. He along with many others, will never forget!!!!!!! Many thanks for X-President Richard Alexander for his contribution to the memorial committee. Rich has been a tremendous contributor, both in design of the memorial, and commitment to the committee. His talent and artistic values shall never be forgotten. We are proud & honored to have Rich as a member of the Independent Fire Co.
