On Tuesday May 3, 2022, The Independent Fire Company celebrated George N. Rubin, Jr. for 50 years of service in the company. George joined IFCO in May 1972 and held the ranks of Captain and President. George is a second generation firefighter following in his father's footsteps and he also has a son Daniel who is also a member.

Bert Daley, age 88, died on April 5, 2022, at Calvary Hospital in NYC.

He is survived by his wife of 6l years, Betty, and 4 children: James Daley of Somers, NY, Karen Guardino (Joseph) of Somers, NY, Dan Daley (Tara) of West Chester, PA and Beth Gould (Jeremy) of Schwenksville, PA. Background:

The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, the Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
 
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
