Battalion Ice Rescue Drill
By John Marshall III Deputy 16 Battailon
February 8, 2009
On Thursday, February 5, & Sunday, February 8, 2009, Departments from Battalion 16 got together for the first-ever battalion-wide ice rescue drill. This was a two part drill and provided departments with the opportunity to share ice rescue techniques, become familiar with the various types of equipment available within the battalion, and to work together in simulated ice rescue scenarios. The drill was organized by Battalion 16 Coordinator John Marshall, and hosted by the Armonk Fire Department. Participating departments included Armonk, Bedford Hills, Mt. Kisco, Katonah, Bedford and Banksville. The drill was conducted at the Windmill Club pond. Special thanks to Armonk Chiefs Lombardi and Cuffe for their efforts both in the class room and in the field.
