MKFD Responds to Late Night House Fire
By Lieutenant Jan Johannessen
January 13, 2009
Just after mid-night on January 13, 2009, members of the MKFD responded to a call of a reported unknown type fire in a two-family residence on Boltis Street. Upon arrival, Mount Kisco Police reported a heavy smoke condition and the call was later upgraded to a 10-75 by Chief Bueti. The Mutual Engine and Hose Co. advanced a line through the front door and crews from the Independents conducted a search of the basement and second floor.
Although the fire was extinguished quickly, first arriving Police Officers assisted in the evacuation of the residents. Several residents and Police Officers were treated for smoke inhalation and other non life threatening injuries.
