Fox Lane First Responders Club Drill
By Junior Member James Tipa, Jr
January 6, 2009
The First Responders Club is a club designated for students who have interest in the emergency services in our community. This is the club's first year at Fox Lane which is run by Jr. Corp. firemen and interested enthusiasts. The purpose of the club is to help add further training for current members of the fire department Jr. Corp. and to help those interested in joining apply to their local fire department. Tuesday January 6th the First Responders club had their first drill at Fox Lane High School with Engine 105 and Engine 103. The drill was a walk through of each of the apparatus and the different tools that each truck carried. The drill covered the use of SCBA and other personal protective equipment and the club was also taught the different responsibilities of each of the companies that were present. The drill was a great success and helped spark a larger interest at Fox Lane. The club would like to thank the fire department members who gave their time to help teach younger members of the fire department. Thanks to the support and time given by the local fire departments the first responders club has been a very successful club and looks to keep growing in the future.
