Drill with UHL Focuses on Drafting/Master Streams
By Lieutenant Jan Johannessen
July 1, 2008
On June 26th, members of the Union Hook and ladder joined the Independents in a joint drill that focused on drafting and master stream operations. After a discussion on drafting theory and technique at Station 3, members regrouped at Leonard Park for hands-on practice. Using a floating dock strainer, E-106 drafted out of a stream and provided two 3" lines to a siamese connection from L-43. As L-43 is not pre-piped, all got a lesson on extending a 3" line up the ladder. The drill provided a good overview on drafting and master streams and a good time was had by all.
