Independents Fight Fire on Woodland Street

On the afternoon of September 29th, as members of the Independents prepared for their 100th Anniversary celebratory clam bake, a house fire was reported at 56 Woodland Street. E-106 was the first due engine and tied into a hydrant in front of the house. A crew from the Independents stretched a 13/4" line, made their way to a second story bedroom, and quickly extinguished the fire. Crews from the Hook and Ladder ventilated and the Mutuals searched for extension on the remaining floors. The fire was contained to the bedroom.
