| On Saturday the 26th the fire company hosted a wet down for our new Seagrave engine. The event was well attended and it was truly a special day. The engine looks great, congratulations to Chairman Johannessen, and his committee for a job well done.
Special Dedication From The Chairman
It has never been tradition to dedicate our fire apparatus. However, we have a unique situation, the committee felt it appropriate to draw attention to our past, present and future members with 50 or more years of service.
The Independent Fire Company currently has 11 members with 50 or more years of service, 6 of which have more than 60 years. 50 years is a long time!!! These gentlemen have dedicated their lives to the fire service. They are still active in our company. Collectively they have 646 years of service. They still serve on company committees, boards, attend company meetings and fire alarms. They are members in which we should all try to emulate. We are truly blessed to have so many of them here with us today. They are true volunteers!!!!!!
Current Members with 50 or more years of service include:
George Rubin, Sr. 65 years John Marshall, Jr. 64 years Peter Hughes, Sr. 61 years Paul Hughes 61 years William Stewart 61 years Bert Daley 60 years Augustus Hall 59 years Howard Kensing 55 years John Thorn 55 years William Jackson 54 years Leroy Bell 51 years
Special thanks to Rich Alexander for his graphic artwork and Captain Ross and his officers for their efforts with the wet down. |
