MKFD FAST to Katonah 10-75
By Firefighter James Tipa, Jr
January 15, 2013
On the morning of Tuesday January 15th the Mount Kisco FD was dispatched to provide a FAST team to 23 South Rd in Katonah for a working fire. Katonah FD was dispatched for a possible fire in a residence with a conformation of heavy smoke pushing from the structure by a Bedford Police unit. After the arrival of Bedford Hills Chief Bueti (Car 2031) a working fire signal was dispatched for a fire in a 2 story 40 X 30 wood frame Cape Cod style home. Crews had one hand line stretched and made a quick knockdown of the blaze after about 20 minutes keeping the fire contained to the second floor of the structure. The Westchester County Cause & Origin Team is currently investigating with no further details given at this time. This Katonah fire adds to the handful Mount Kisco FD has assisted in over the past few weeks providing a busy New Year for first responders.
