MKFD Covers Bedford Village on New Years
By Firefighter James Tipa, Jr
January 1, 2013
The Independents were dispatched in the early hours of New Years to stand by and cover Bedford Village FD while they tackled a working fire on Hook Rd. Just after 3 AM on New Years the Bedford Village FD was dispatched to a possible house fire at 334 Hook Rd in Bedford Village. First units found a two story 90 X 80 wood frame home fully involved. The fire brought out many mutual aid departments for tanker operations due to no hydrants in the immediate area.
Mt. Kisco FD responded with Tower Ladder 14 to the scene while Car 2281 and Engine 106 stood by in Bedford Village's Fire house to cover their district during the fire. The Westchester County Cause & Origin Team are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
