Busy Night for MKFD
By Engineer Ray Zaccari
March 16, 2012
On Friday March 16, the Mount Kisco Fire Department was slated to host our biennial inspection of our department. The Week of our inspection was quite busy. In between cleaning the rigs and equpment, the Mount Kisco Fire Department responded to 4 structure fires with-in the week.
The night of the inspection, the members were assembling the equipment to be inspected by the neighboring departments, when the multiple alarms began to sound. First, Engine 104 & Rescue 15 were requested to respond to a roll-over MVA with injuries at Barker St at Allen Ln. Next, TL 14 was requested mutual aid to Millwood Fire Department for a working structure fire. They were cancelled enroute due to the fire being under control. Finally, Engine 103 was requested to respond to another roll-over MVA on the opposite side of town. Engine 106 responded with Engine 103 for assistance at the scene. At this point, Chappaqua Fire Department was returning from the Millwood fire and they stopped to assist the Mount Kisco FD at the second accident on Rt. 133 at Garey Dr. Rescue 31 was also dispatched to assist with traffic conditions on Rt. 133. Chappaqua FD and Engine 103 were soon released from the scene. Engine 106 remained on scene untill the vehicle was removed from the road.
