Working Shed Fire
By Captain Eric Hartmann
February 19, 2007
At 4:05 pm the Mount Kisco Fire Department was dispatch to a working shed fire in close proximity to another structure. Upon arrival MKFD Chiefs found a 20' X 30 ' shed fully involved. Order were given for E103 to come up the drive way and stretch a 1 3/4" hand line. E-106 was instructed to back up the driveway and be ready to lay out to the hydrant on Croton Lake Road. It was quick determined that the 2 engines full of water would suffice for extinguishing the fire. Engine 106 crew stretched 100' feet of 2 1/2 " to supply E-103. Then E-106's crew stretched a back up 1 3/4" line off E-103 and assisted with overhaul. The fire was quickly extinguished; there was no extension to the adjacent structure.
