Early Tuesday Morning the MKFD was dispatched mutual aid to Katonah for a working structure fire. The blaze was located at 40 Deer Park Road in Katonah at the Deer Park Tavern. A passerby early that morning discovered the fire and alerted the local State Police. As the Katonah Chief arrived to the scene heavy fire was pushing from the two story building. The basement of the building was fully involved causing extension through the 1st and 2nd floors and out through the roof. Over 10 fire departments from Northern Westchester were called to help battle the early morning blaze in Katonah. Because there were no hydrants in the area, a tanker shuttle was setup involving eight tankers from the Northern Westchester area. The blaze was put under control just after 6am Tuesday morning. The Westchester County Cause and Origin Team Zone 5 is investigating what caused the blaze.
