It is with deep regret to announce the passing of brother Irving O Farber. Irving passed away peacefully surrounded by family over the weekend. Irving joined the Independent Fire Co. in 2007 a dedicated member for 14 years. Irving served on numerous committees, the 9/11 memorial committee and our bylaw committee. Irving quickly learned the operation of the fire company as well as the Department. Joining at an older age, that did not stop Irv, he dove in headfirst and enrolled in the firefighter one class. Irv also served as engineer for utility 13. Irving is survived by his wife Jean, Son Brian and daughter Lauren along with his sisters. Irving will be missed by all.
