MKFD responds to 10-75

At 2036 on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, MKFD was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 148 North Bedford Road. Ex-chief Tom Jackson arrived on scene and contacted 60-Control to report a 10-75 at the above location. Upon arrival, 2283 also communicated to 60-Control a 10-75. Engine 105 was enroute back from the Westchester County Fire training Center after attending newly graduated Firefighter Jeffrey Playford's Fire Fighter 1 Graduation Ceremony. Other department members also graduated in this class. Engine 106 responded in place of Engine 105 and was positioned on the a/b corner of the structure. Engine 105 and Utility 13 responded to fill out the assignment. Engine 102 took the hydrant, Engine 104 located in the driveway of Michael's Nursery and Engine 103 stretched 5" hose from the hydrant to Engine 104. Engine 104 supplied Engine 106 with a 3" line. The fire was contained to one room of the structure which was owned and used by Michael's Garden Gate Nursery. There were no injuries reported. Mount Kisco VAC stood by at the scene.
