| On the evening of October 29th the MKFD was dispatched to a car fire on the Saw Mill River Parkway south bound in the area of the Pump House. On arrival first crews pulled up to a working car fire with a growing brush around the vehicle. They stretched hose two hose lines one for the car another for the brush fire and E-106 fed E-104 with a supply line to fill their tank. The occupants were able to get out of the vehicle without injuries though they were checked out by Westchester EMS and MKVAC as a precaution. The Independents and the Mutuals worked together to extinguish both the magnesium burning car fire and the brush fire which extended around the car and uphill of the accident. The car was flatbed with not much left of the car due to a heavy fire load. Another fine response and quick attack by the MKFD. |
