MKFD Stands-By in Bedford

On the evening of July 6th the Beford Police and Bedford FD responded to 357 Greenwich Road in Bedford Village for a person drowning. On arrival PD found out that a canoe carrying three had overturned and that two of the canoe's occupants had made it to shore but one was underwater. The Yorktown and Sound Beach, Conneticut dive teams responded and rescued the victim from the water. The victim was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital where was later pronounced dead. During the rescue Engine 106 responded to the Bedford Village firehouse and covered the Village while the Bedford Village FD was operating.
