1075 In Chappaqua

On Sunday May 21st 3:00 PM Chappaqua Fire Department was dispatched to smoke in the structure 16 Bessel Lane. Additional updates reported fire in the house. Upon Arrival Car 2061 transmitted 1075 and reported fire through the roof. First due TL-27 stretched a 5" line from the hydrant. Later to be tied in by tanker-9. Bill Stewart Celebrates 65 Years

William A Stewart joined the Independent Fire Co. in May 1952. Bill has been an outstanding member. He has served in all capacities of company office. Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, President and Chief. Bill currently keeps close tabs on the SCBA (air bottles) to be sure there always filled. Working Structure Fire on Laurel Drive

On Wednesday April 26th approximately 2:30 PM, MKFD was dispatched to a reported Structure fire on Laurel Drive. 60 Control advised numerous calls. Upon arrival Chief 2283 transmitted a 1075. There was fire in the rear of the structure, also involving an automobile. First due engine 104 stretched attack lines, while engine 105 stretched to the hydrant. FAST Team & Engine Respond to 1075 In Katonah

On Tuesday April 18th approximately noon. Katonah FD was dispatched for a structure fire on Allison Road. While in route Chief 2211 request a response for Utility 13 FAST Team. Additional reports from Bedford PD smoke from the structure, Chief 2211 upgraded the alarm to a 1075. This dispatched additional engines and tankers to the scene. There was one day lost due to the heavy spring snow storm. It was amazing to see the talent in the room, and the beautiful works. Background:

The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, the Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
 
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
