Chappaqua Working Fire
JUNE 05
- On June 5th at 13:03 hours Chappaqua FD was dispatched to 33 Carolyn Place for reported smoke. Upon arrival CFD Chief 2063 transmitted 1075 working fire. Engine 106 & U13 FAST were dispatched. The fire quickly spread to the roof and attic area. Chief Jackson 2281 was assigned as the attack Chief. Engine 106 supplied water and the FAST team was quickly put to work upon arrival of BHFD FAST. Sound Beach Memorial Day Parade

- On Monday May 27th members from I.F.Co. attended the annual Sound Beach CT parade. The friendship between SBVFD and I.F.Co. goes back to the 60's when members provided a demonstration of our American LaFrance pumper. Passing Of David T. Scott

- It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Ex Commissioner David T. Scott. Dave passed on Saturday May 11th, he was 90. Dave joined the fire company in February 1963 and was a 50 year member. Dave also served as Fire Commissioner, and was instrumental in starting the first Scuba dive team. Dave was a kind man and talented carpenter, and an asset to the fire service. He will be missed. ... (Full Story & Photos) |

Background:
The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1 (www.hooks14.com), Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
