MVA HazMat on Main Street

On Monday March 6th, At the American gas station on Main Street, While fueling a 5,000 gallon oil truck experienced a mechanical malfunction. The truck traveled down the hill and struck a sign post. 2nd Alarm In Banksville

On Sunday March 5th Banksville FD was dispatched to reported chimney fire on Robin Lane. While in route Car 2582 viewed flames from the house transmitted 1075. The alarm level dispatched engine and FAST team from station #3. Engine 106 and U-13 responded, the engine was originally to relocate to Banksville HQ. On Friday February 17th approximately 6:20 PM 60 Control received a call reporting a fire at 15 Yeshiva Road. Dispatched were Engine 104,105 Tower Ladder 14 and Rescue 31 Tankers 14,15 from Millwood and Yorktown. On Friday the 17th 0313 hours MKFD was dispatched to 195 North Bedford Road, Stop & Shop Eng 104, R-31 Chief 2283 Upon arrival the engine crew was informed there was a fire in the compressor room. The crew extinguished the fire and discovered a oil and Freon leak.

The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, the Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
