MKFD Responds to Bedford for Working Fire

JULY 09 - On the evening of Friday July 9th not to long after the MKFD Parade the MKFD was diapatched to respond with our FAST Team (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) to a working fire at 91 Hickory Lane in Bedford. Mount Kisco Fire Department Parade

JULY 09 - On Friday July 9th the Mount Kisco Fire Department held it's annual Firemen's Parade. This year proved to be another succesful year. This year the Parade consisted of four divsions and 27 fire companies/departments marched in the parade along with many different marching bands and drum corps. MKFD Stands-By in Bedford

JULY 06 - On the evening of July 6th the Beford Police and Bedford FD responded to 357 Greenwich Road in Bedford Village for a person drowning. On arrival PD found out that a canoe carrying three had overturned and that two of the canoe's occupants had made it to shore but one was underwater. MKFD Marches in Mamaroneck

JULY 01 - On the evening of July 1st the MKFD marched in the annual Mamaroneck Fire Department Parade. This year the MKFD actually marched as the Town of Bedford. This group consisted of the Bedford Hills FD, Bedford Village FD, Katonah FD, and the Mount Kisco FD. There was a wonderful turnout for the parade and trophy's were won by the department. IFCO Member recieves NWVFA Scholarship

JUNE 21 - On Monday June 21st Assistant Engineer Daniel Rubin received a scholarship from the NWVFA (Northern Westchester Volunteer Fireman's Association). Firefighters that recently graduated from high school and will be going on to college can apply for the scholarship. Background:

The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
 
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
