An Update Since Moving "Home"

Here’s an inside look of what we’ve been up to since moving in: grinding out some work in the workshop, getting dressed in the new gear room, enjoying each others company in the new ready room, checking to make sure our equipment is in good working order, and as always ready to respond to emergencies.

Frank Mannion Celebrating 50 Years of Service

On Tuesday January 2, 2024, The Independent Fire Company celebrated Frank Mannion's for 50 years of service in the company.
Frank joined the Independent Fire Company is December 1973. Frank is a second-generation firefighter. He follows in his father's (Frank Mannion Sr.) footsteps.
Over the past 50 years, Frank has held the following positions:

Background:
The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, the Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
